Original PlayStation memory card icons are really small — only 16 pixels square! That’s awfully tiny for today’s screens so I’ve created 2 versions of each icon: one at 32 pixels that is closer to the original size and a much larger one at 256 pixels
FUN FACTS
When the original 1999 release of Championship Motocross Featuring Ricky Carmichael was brought over to Japan, the game was renamed to Dirt Champ Motocross No.1. With the title now missing the Championship Motocross name, the game’s memory card icon was updated from “CM” to “DC” to represent Dirt Champ.
Funcom apparently missed this distinction when making the 2000 follow up, Championship Motocross 2001 Featuring Ricky Carmichael, because all versions of the game are still represented by the “DC” icon. It’s extra ironic because this sequel was never brought over to Japan, leaving European and North American players wondering what “DC” could possibly stand for
