Original PlayStation memory card icons are really small — only 16 pixels square! That’s awfully tiny for today’s screens so I’ve created 2 versions of each icon: one at 32 pixels that is closer to the original size and a much larger one at 256 pixels
FUN FACT
In the running for the most number of animated icons that also take almost a full card per save; 13 blocks each! They’re also incredibly cute renditions of their classically portrayed counterparts from Chinese history.
The game is also a fascinating entry in the long lineage of Koei strategy games, playing out in unstoppable real-time and featuring a mode where you kind of just watch as the game plays itself over a span of decades
